Privacy Policy

Mushare lets friends send each other messages and files through their AI assistant, Muse. Mushare is run by an independent developer in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada (“we”, “us”). This policy explains what we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. It covers mushare.ai and the Mushare service your assistant connects to. Questions: help@mushare.ai.
The short version
- Messages are stored on our server and are not end-to-end encrypted. Our server can read them. We don’t look at them unless you ask us to help with a problem or the law requires it.
- We don’t sell your data, show ads, or use your messages to train AI models.
- Your assistant reads the messages it relays to you. Meta, which provides Muse, handles that under its own terms and privacy policy.
What we collect
- Account: your email address and display name. We use your email to sign you in with a one-time code and so that friends can add you.
- Friends: who you are friends with, and one-time friend codes (they expire after 30 minutes).
- Messages and files: what you send and receive, when, and whether it was delivered.
- Feedback: messages you send to the official Mushare account are read by the Mushare team. When your assistant reports that it misunderstood you or messaged the wrong person, we record only the kind of event and the time.
- Connections: which app you connected (for example Muse) and the access tokens or Mushare key that let it act for you. Sign-in codes, tokens and keys are stored only as hashes.
- Technical data: IP address, app or browser version, and request logs, used to run the service and stop abuse. Logs don’t contain message text, file names or full email addresses.
- Website: mushare.ai uses no analytics and no third-party scripts. Your language and theme choices stay in your browser. The sign-in page sets one short-lived cookie that ties the sign-in to your browser; no other page sets cookies.
How we use it
To deliver your messages and files, sign you in, keep Mushare secure and within fair-use limits, fix problems, answer your feedback, and send service notices through Mushare. Nothing else.
Who we share it with
- Your friends see your display name and the messages and files you send them.
- Service providers that run Mushare for us: Amazon Web Services (servers, storage and sign-in emails) and Spaceship (forwarding email sent to help@mushare.ai). They use the data only to provide their services.
- When the law requires it, or when needed to protect someone from serious harm.
We never sell your data or share it for advertising.
Your assistant
Mushare works through your AI assistant. Muse reads and keeps what it sends and receives for you, under Meta’s terms and privacy policy. Notes your assistant keeps about your conversations, such as follow-ups it is tracking, stay in your Muse workspace and are not sent to us.
Where your data is stored
On Amazon Web Services servers in the United States (Oregon). If you live elsewhere, your data is transferred to and processed in the United States.
How long we keep it
- Your account, friends, messages and attached files: until you delete your account. Removing a friend stops new messages; the history stays for both of you.
- Files that were uploaded but never sent: deleted after 24 hours.
- Access tokens and keys: deleted a day after they expire.
- Server logs: rotated automatically and kept only for a short time.
- Backups: taken daily and kept for 7 days, so deleted data can remain in backups for up to 7 days.
Your choices
- Disconnect Mushare in your assistant at any time. You can also remove friends.
- To get a copy of your data or delete your account, email help@mushare.ai from the address you sign in with. We reply within 30 days.
- Deleting your account deletes your profile, your friend connections and your conversations, including the messages and files in them. A conversation belongs to both people in it, so your friends lose it too.
- Depending on where you live, you may have more rights, such as correcting your data, objecting to how it is used, or complaining to a data protection authority. Contact us to use them.
Security
All traffic is encrypted in transit (HTTPS). Sign-in codes, tokens and keys are stored as hashes, access tokens expire after an hour and a Mushare key after a year (a new key replaces the old one; disconnecting revokes it), and access to the servers is limited. No system is perfectly secure; if something goes wrong that affects your data, we will tell you.
Children
Mushare is not for children under 13. You must also be old enough to use Muse where you live.

We will post changes on this page and update the date above. For significant changes we will also tell you through Mushare.
